So I read a post in the BR sub (that's now deleted), that mentioned the shader cache has to load, and it recommended going into playground mode for about 20 minutes, then things would be fine. But you have to do this for every restart of fortnite. I was having massive hitches after this latest patch, so verified files (found nothing) and then restarted Fortnite and went into playground.
Stood around for maybe 15 minutes (while I ate), and then went to a solo match. Hitches completely gone. Restarted Fortnite and went directly into a solo match. Massive hitches. Went into playground for another 15 minutes, then a solo, and hitches again completely gone. Played about 5 games, and no issues whatsoever.
I was having awful performance last night in STW (before this latest patch) inside missions (as well as having the long loading times). If later this evening in STW I'm having these hitching issues, I'm hoping this will also fix it.
I'm hoping this IS the issue, that you guys can fix it, and that I can play hitch-free soon.
